But he realized that it wasn't enough to just have a virtual event. To fully replicate the experience of going to a conference or trade show, the entire venue would have to be virtualized.

And with that, was born a new category in the events space: *virtual venues*.

Fab also realized that having your own branded 24/7 venue in that virtual world, which wouldn't be feasible in the physical world, had many other unique benefits.

But a rapidly increasing number of competing agencies caused prices and profits to keep falling.

At the end of 2019, the Hoosh team felt that Marketo had finally become commoditized. 

But it was about to get worse.

COVID-19 hit out of nowhere and marketing teams froze budget. Every agency's Marketo business had its revenue pipeline dry up.

But Hoosh managed to keep their Marketo consultant services running past the crisis.
